What is the connection between exercise and heart disease

First a word of caution that if you have any concerns about exercise and heart disease then ask your doctor before beginning any exercise program.

It is generally appreciated that exercise and heart disease prevention are linked. If you can take regular exercise then this can help avoid a serious heart event such as a stroke but like all of these risks it will not guarantee that this will not occur.

Exercise and heart rate

All of our muscles, including those of the heart, benefit from daily physical activity. In particular our heart muscles benefit when you exercise and heart rate increases. If you can participate in these types of activity to raise your heart rate for a minimum of 30 minutes a day then all the better.

Choose aerobic exercise as this will make the most difference to your heart.  For expert advice click here

Exercise and your heart

As well as this link between exercise and heart disease then are other advantages such as maintaining an ideal weight and controlling hypertension also known as high blood pressure.

Take exercise and your heart will be more healthy and you will find you fell better in yourself.  If you make the effort to exercise then you are more likely to look positively at your other lifestyle choices such as smoking and alcohol.

Some people find that taking exercise gives them a more positive outlook on life, makes them more efficient at work and helps reduce stress
