Healthcare compliance simple means taking good advice and following this guidance. The proportion of people who follow this simple rule is surprisingly low. Some people have the benefit of a healthcare system which is capable of providing excellent counseling, accurate diagnosis and targetted medications but after receiving these benefits still do not make the effort to comply.
Lack of health care compliance is a major problem in the prevention of heart disease.
As an example of the problem with health care compliance someone may be told by their doctor that they have high blood pressure (hypertension) and they may be prescribed medication but forget to take it regularly.
Another person maybe diagnosed as being "pre-diabetic" and be advised to modify their diet so this does not develop further, but they choose to ignore the advice.
We all need to take advice and be prepared to act accordingly. It may be our lifestyle that is suboptimal or we may have health issues which are not being appropriately addressed.
If you perform your assessment then this will tell you the potential risk of you having premature heart disease .
Once you know your risks you can discuss these with your doctor and most importantly follow the guidance given. Don't be one of the many who do not take healthcare compliance seriously.
