Blood clotting and heart disease (Thrombophilia) is the increased tendency to form blood clots. It can be caused by inherited susceptibility factors, health abnormalities, some medications, or by combinations of these.

An increased tendency to form blood clots is a risk factor for heart disease (cardiovascular disease). As the clotting tendency increases, so does the risk for heart disease
