This heart risk assessment is different from others as it is built on a new concept of a longterm partnership between you and My Heart Risk. This partnership enables you to take the time to find out and then enter information about yourself and your family members. This data is then used by the heart disease risk assessment to prepare for you an individual multipage personal report. You may not know all of the information that would be helpful for the heart risk assessment program to best estimate your risk so because your data is securely stored you can return and enter this later. The heart disease risk assessment program will help you and ask you to enter any important missing information about yourself.

As part of your personal report you will receive health recommendations and in some cases you may be advised to seek professional advice from your doctor or health care provider. As you take the necessary actions to reduce your heart disease risk you can again use your My Heart Risk partnership to update your data and see the results on your progress charts.

Here is what is included in your heart risk assessment
<a target=_blankhref="/home/page_assessment_folder_family_tree.html">Family tree
charts
personal report
Don’t wait for a heart attack or stroke to be the first sign of your heart problems

The heart risk assessment needs to be told of certain details about yourself and your family members, this is the data entry. Not all of the data needs to be entered at the beginning and a few details of yourself and your family members will get you started.

Now the heart risk assessment program can work on your data to produce your family tree. This is what is called by geneticists a pedigree drawing which is a diagram of your relatives showing details of any heart problems and other health issues they may have had. This famly tree would be most useful to show to your doctor.

The heart disease risk assessment also produces risk charts which show your estimated risk of heart disease at your current age and in 10 year steps for up to the next 30 years. The chart also plots the population risk for heart disease for your gender so you can make a quick comparison.

Although the family tree and risk charts are useful for you to see your heart disease risk it is the personal report that is of most use to you and this also would be good to share with your doctor. This is a multipage document which interprets the data you entered about yourself and your family members and provides you with health recommendations. The report may also highlight items of data that it would be useful to know about you so you can go and find this out.

When you have had a chance to study your family tree, risk charts and personal report you should be motivated to work on the health recommendations and start to improve your health.

As soon as you have some more information about yourself such as a new weight measurement or new blood pressure readings then you return and update your data entry. Then you can immediately see the benefits by viewing your progress charts.

It would seem we think our car is more important than our heart health!

As a minimum a heart MOT should include:

Cholesterol test

Blood pressure

Blood suger

But what can you do with the results and what do they mean to you?
